ACR is the ratio of urinary microalbumin (mALB) to urinary creatinine.
Compared to detecting urinary microalbumin and creatinine separately, ACR uses urinary creatinine to correct the concentration of urinary albumin. Its results are not affected by renal basement membrane lesions, eliminating the influence of sampling methods and urine concentration on urinary albumin excretion, and accurately reflecting the state of renal function.
